Spreading the Science of
Krishna Consciousness

Who We are

ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) is a Hindu religious organization that was founded in 1966 in New York City. It is based on the teachings of the ancient Hindu scriptures, the Bhagavad Gita and the Srimad Bhagavatam, and focuses on the worship of Lord Krishna. The organization has a worldwide presence and operates temples, cultural centers, and educational institutions.

Our Impact

The impact of ISKCON can be seen in various aspects:

Religious: It has popularized the practice of Bhakti Yoga, which emphasizes devotion to God, and has introduced Hinduism to many people around the world.

Cultural: ISKCON has helped to preserve and promote Hindu culture, especially through its many festivals and events.

Education: The organization runs schools and educational institutions that promote Hindu culture and values, as well as a broader education.

Community: ISKCON has helped to build a sense of community among its followers, providing a supportive environment for spiritual growth and development.

Charity: The organization runs various charitable initiatives, such as food for life programs that provide meals to those in need.

Overall, ISKCON has made a significant impact on religion, culture, education, community, and charity both in India and globally.

How It Works?

ISKCON operates through a hierarchical organizational structure and follows a centralized decision-making process.

Leadership: The organization is led by a Governing Body Commission (GBC), which is composed of senior members who are responsible for setting policy and making decisions on behalf of the society.

Temples and Centers: ISKCON operates temples and cultural centers globally, which serve as the primary place of worship and community gathering. Each center is typically managed by a local management team and overseen by regional leaders.

Festivals and Celebrations: ISKCON holds numerous festivals and celebrations throughout the year, which serve as a means of spreading its message and attracting new members.

Education and Training: The organization runs schools and provides training programs to its members, with the aim of promoting a deeper understanding of its teachings and practices.

Social and Charitable Work: ISKCON is involved in various social and charitable initiatives, including food distribution programs, health clinics, and other community service activities.

The overall functioning of ISKCON is guided by its core principles, including the promotion of Bhakti Yoga, the worship of Lord Krishna, and the practice of compassion and service to others.

ISKCON NVCC (New Vedic Cultural Center) in Pune is one of the most beautiful and spiritually enriching temples in India. Located in the serene surroundings of Kondhwa, this temple is a perfect blend of devotion, architecture, and cultural experience. It offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and is a must-visit for devotees, tourists, and spiritual seekers. Architecture & Ambience The temple is a stunning example of modern yet traditional Vedic architecture. The grand entrance, intricately carved pillars, and beautifully designed interiors create a divine atmosphere. The Radha-Krishna deities, adorned in exquisite clothing and jewelry, are the main attraction, filling the temple hall with a powerful spiritual aura. The temple complex is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, providing an ideal environment for meditation, prayer, and self-reflection. The lush gardens, fountains, and peaceful ambiance enhance the overall experience. Spiritual & Cultural Activities Daily Aartis & Kirtans – The temple follows a strict schedule of devotional aartis, bhajans, and kirtans that immerse visitors in divine vibrations. The evening Sandhya Aarti is especially mesmerizing. Bhagavad Gita Discourses – Regular spiritual lectures and Bhagavad Gita classes help visitors gain deeper insights into Vedic wisdom and Krishna consciousness. Festivals & Celebrations – The temple is vibrant during major Hindu festivals, especially Janmashtami, Radhashtami, and Gaur Purnima. These events attract thousands of devotees and are celebrated with grand processions, cultural performances, and prasadam distribution. Govinda’s Restaurant – The temple has a pure vegetarian restaurant, serving delicious Satvik food, including North Indian, South Indian, and continental dishes. The prasadam (sanctified food) is a must-try! Facilities & Amenities Spacious Parking & Wheelchair Accessibility – The temple provides ample parking space and is easily accessible for senior citizens and differently-abled visitors. Guest Accommodation & Ashram – There are facilities for visitors who wish to stay for spiritual retreats. Gift & Book Store – A shop inside the temple sells religious books, idols, spiritual souvenirs, and devotional items. Best Time to Visit The temple is open throughout the year, but the best time to visit is during early mornings or evenings when the aartis are conducted. If you want to experience the grandeur of Krishna bhakti, visit during Janmashtami or Kartik month. ISKCON NVCC Pune is not just a temple—it’s a spiritual experience. Whether you are seeking inner peace, want to learn more about Vedic philosophy, or simply enjoy the divine atmosphere, this temple is a must-visit. The combination of spirituality, culture, and beautiful surroundings makes it one of the best places in Pune for devotees and tourists alike.

A visit to the ISKCON Temple in Pune is indeed something different. The construction of the temple is just marvelous and the beauty of the architecture and the location around the temple is quite impressive as well. All these combine with the fact that the temple is spotlessly clean and make the whole experience very pleasant. Energy in this place is very positive, it is good space for contemplating or just for relaxing. The cleanliness and the detail to which the temple is looked after is visible throughout the temple. I very strongly recommend this peaceful retreat to people looking for some spiritual healing or just a little break from the busy life of this vibrant city.
